On behalf of AEFJN Fr. Chika Onyejiuwa participated in the debate/dialogue with two MEP candidates Klaus Buchner from the Greens and Andreas Schwab from the European People’s Party. This meeting was held at the Resurrection Chapel in Brussels on April 10 and was attended by 80 participants. AEFJN along with other 7 Civil Society organizations launched social questions related to the European Union policies. The social worries of European citizens were at the centre of the debate and each organization could raise questions related to their own field such us youth unemployment, the EU relationship with Africa, social inclusion, refugees, climate change and how Christian values can shape European politics. After a brief presentation of the work of AEFJN Fr. Chika raised some questions related to the Transparency Directives, trade between Africa and Europe and the agricultural model supported by the EU in Africa.
