On March 8, the general assembly of the French Antenna was held in Paris. After the prayer led by Begoña Iñarra, President of AEFJN France, three consecutive speakers helped those working on land grabbing to hold onto the connection of the issue with food and agriculture questions, within the framework of advocacy. One focus was the problem of massive land grabbing in Madagascar which lies behind the creation of TANY, the Collective for the Defense of Malagasy Lands. ‘Tany’ means ‘land’ in Malagasy.  The issue is the project of renting 1.3 million hectares of land for 99 years in 4 regions in Madagascar by the South Korean company Daewoo. The antenna also discussed the public and political dimension of advocacy.
