As we prepare this advent season for the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, let us pray in solidarity with those who suffer around the world.
Despite the conflicts torn by selfish interests, the continuing poverty in the perpetuated by unjust economic structures, the human rights violations caused by governments who do not see the dignity of the human person, and the denial of the common responsibility to fight climate change, may we hope that Christ edifies our vocation to achieve social justice.
May this endeavor through the Prince of Peace continue to inspire us to help liberate the poor, marginalized, and oppressed in our societies. May the coming 2024 lead us to a better Africa-Europe relationship founded on common prosperity, mutual trust, and equal partnership.
